We’ve been hard at work making the Fake Name Generator as fast as possible.

Here are a few of the things we’ve done:

• Implemented Bad Behavior to prevent robots from accessing the site. This reduces load on the site so that pages can come up faster.
• Moved images and CSS to a CDN. This means you’ll download the images from a server that is geographically near you instead of from our name generating server.
• Optimized our CSS.
• Optimized our name generator to do things smarter and faster.

One of our visitors requested that we make it possible to get website address in bulk orders. We think this is a great idea, so w have updated the bulk order page to allow you to have domain names included in your order.

We’ve had an issue for a while where bulk orders with non-Latin characters would get cut off part way through. We’ve corrected this issue, and also added byte order marks to the beginning of generated bulk orders.

We experienced a short outage today as our DNS host temporarily went down. We’ve switched to a new DNS host that has a better reliability record.

We’ve started using pwgen-php to generate passwords. Password generation is now available on the home page and bulk orders.
